Debarry Studio 10
Debarry Studio 10 is filled with enthusiastic artist /students. We work from direct observation and from our reference photos. There are still life and floral setups available for the class to choose from. Some students work small and are able to finish a painting during the course of the day. Others work on one painting for several sessions. We work in Pastel, Oil, w/c and drawing. All levels are welcomed.
In my teaching I stressed these basic academic elements: light, shadow, composition, design and color harmony.
I encouraged my students to discover the quality of line, the temperature of color, depth of space, the value of a given object and its color value. We explored the varied shapes, textures and structures of the given still life/flowers and landscapes.
The finished paintings were strong interpretations of a given subject matter. Each student's work is unique in style, texture and composition.
The friendly atmosphere and enthusiasm in this studio is encouraging and heart warming.
Classes / Workshops
Artist/students will learn how to solve color and value problems. Thumbnail sketches will be used to develop strong composition and design.
The quality of line, the temperature of color, depth of space with in a picture plane, the value of a given object and its color value will be discussed. New techniques of application of pastel, under painting with water color washes, blending of colors; various textures and strokes will be demonstrated.

Classes
Classes are 3 hrs long, once a week.
- Drop Ins - $35 per class (If the classes fill up, the drop in may not have a reserved spot in the studio)
- Monthly - $30 per class (must be paid at the beginning of each month)
- 12 week sessions - $300 ($25 per class - must be paid in full and be used within 16 weeks)
Workshops
Workshops run from 9:30am-4:30pm, with lunch included.
- One day workshops - $110
- Two day workshops - $210
- Three day workshops - $310
Private Lessons by appointment
- One-on-One - $100 per 1 1/2 hrs
Critiques by appointment
- Individual Critiques for all media - $50 per critique
